WHAT DRIVES US?86,7% of the total population in Lithuania consists of Lithuanian, Even if other 13,3 % represent social minorities, statistically speaking, Lithuania is a very homogeneous country. This is often one of the reasons behind its inclination to resist changes. Even if Lithuanians consider their society to be tolerant, discrimination towards foreigners, other cultures or other religions – especially Islamic – is still an issue. As citizens and as an NGO we want to provide a positive contribution to improve our society. |
Balturka works together with all members of the Lithuanian society, locals and foreigners. The core of our mission is to contribute to the understanding and to the acceptance of other people and cultures. What we want to achieve during our path and through our actions can also be define as the “Art of Living Together”.
